Cos gaining critical mass in rural India

The rural push by consumer goods companies has started showing returns for India Inc. Close to 70% of toilet soap users now live in village whiel 38% of two-wheeler purchases are now made by rural folks. During 2002-03, while soft-drinks consumption in urban area grew by 24%, in rural areas its grew by a whopping 37%.
