Bangladesh's gas based industries, power plants and domestic consumers are likely to face severe problems in the year 2000 as the construction of Rashidpur Ashuganj Gas Pipeline Project has become uncertain. The 82-milometer Rashidpur Ashuganj Transmission Project was approved by ECNEC in March 1998. The estimated cost of the project was 68 million US dollars. The project is scheduled to be completed by June 2000. But no progress could be made even after 14 months of its approval at the highest level.
