NTPC's 1,000 MW thermal power project to come up at Cheyyur, 90 km south of Chennai, is not likely to invite the provisions of the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) notification. The proposed boundary of the NTPC plant will be about 1.5 km from the CRZ limit.
