The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) plans to take interactive research programmes to another level and make them a regular feature in their yearly calendar. A few months ago, the centre had launched a unique experiment of training a batch of students chosen from across the country in post graduation courses in eight of its centres. The Central Scientific Instruments Organisation (CSIO), Chandigarh, was also one of them and is training nine students. Taking the initiative of training engineering students further, the CSIR plans to establish its own Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research.
