Giving a new twist to the controversy between the Maharashtra State Electricity Board and the Enron-promited Dabhol Power Company, MSEB has filed a petition with the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission to rescind it power purchase agreement with DPC. The move assumes greater significance because on Thursday the state electricity board slapped a PPA termination notice on DPC. According to MSEB officials, they made the move as MERC has the exclusive legislative jurisdiction to solve disputes between two power utilities.
