Dahua village milk coop society records Rs 93 lakh business

In order to increase milk production through cooperatives in Madhya Pradesh, MP State Co-operative Dairy Federation is making all efforts. Around 2.50 lakh milkmen are members of 4,100 societies in the State. Financial benefits on milk are reflecting in their progress in the villages. Most of the milk cooperative societies have spent bonus amount on the public welfare works. Milk cooperative society of Dahua village of Multai tehsil in Betul district has recorded a business of Rs 93 lakh under Bhopal Milk Federation. This society has purchased average 1,650 litre milk every day from 178 milkmen. This society was constituted in 1978 and has started its work with a share amount of Rs 590 only. Now, it has taken a big shape with a share amount of Rs 1.5 lakh. Dahua cooperative society has also adopted new technique to increase milk production. The society has provided 3 lakh 66 thousand 250 kg balancing feed for the livestock of the members.The society is distributing bonus among the milkmen. A building for society has been constructed in the village itself. In order to maintain transparency in the payment against milk, an automatic milk collection system is being applied. Keeping a huge milk production, the Dairy Federation has installed two bulk milk coolers of 1,000 litre per day capacity. Dahua cooperative society did some developmental works like drinking water facility, water facility for livestock in the village. Not only this, the society is also organising cultural programmes from time to time with the benefit amount. Taking a cue from activities of Dahua milk cooperative society, many cooperative societies have been formed in other villages too in Multai tehsil. MP State Dairy Federation is being conducted under the Animal Husbandry Department. The Federation is actively working in Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Jabalpur and Gwalior.
