DaimlerChrysler in turbocharger pact with IHI

Japanese heavy machinery maker Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co Ltd (IHI) said on Wednesday it had formed a joint venture with DaimlerChrysler AG to produce turbochargers for diesel-engine cars. European demand for diesel-powered cars has been rising for environmental reasons because they emit less greenhouse gas carbon dioxide than gasoline engines.
