A third nuclear power station planned for Guangdong should be built at Daya Bay, where the mainland's first plant was built, NPC head Li Peng says. Building it at a site 60km from Hong Kong would save money and ensure safety, said the National People's Congress chairman. Only last month, the firm building the plant suggested it should be built at Yangjiang, 400km from Hong Kong. But Mr Li said the third plant should be an extension to the Daya Bay plant.
