To make up for the shortage of water in Dwarka, the Delhi Development Authority has decided to take on an extensive water-harvesting project in the area. This is the first environment project undertaken by the engineering department of the DDA. The DDA constructed water-harvesting systems in 11 DDA housing colonies in Dwarka, just before the advent of the monsoon. Engineering department officials say the main idea is to not only be able to increase the groundwater level in the area but also to look for means and ways by which the water scarcity faced by the residents can be resolved.
