Decks cleared for MP to raise Rs 800 cr

The Uma Bharati-led Madhya Pradesh Government has received clearance from the Central Government to raise Rs 800 crore from the public through bonds. A sum of Rs 100 crore has been okayed for the forthcoming month-long Kumbh, the religious congregation of Hindus, scheduled to commence in Ujjain on April 5 2005. Apart from allocating Rs 34 crore for development and upkeep of roads, Union Minister of Surface Transport Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri has also cleared new proposals worth Rs 92 crore.
