Dengue, JE cases on the rise in Golaghat, AAMSU demands action

The vector-borne disease like dengue, Japanese Encephalitis and malaria have broken out in various places of Golaghat district. According to report, in Golaghat district, a student of Sarupathar had been suffering from fever and later she was confirmed as a Japanese Encephalitis victim. The student died in the local hospital at Sarupathar after suffering from JE. Similarly, Inamul Hussain (75), resident of Moinapara of Golaghat town has been detected with dengue. Few days back Inamul Hussain was admitted at Swahid Kushal Konwar Civil Hospital for medical treatment and he returned home after recovery. On June 14, the hospital authority noticed that he had been detected with dengue disease after testing samples of his blood test. At present, he is under treatment. Besides, a woman has also been detected with dengue in Murphulani area of Golaghat district and Jan Bora of Bhakat Gaon under Charingia PHC is suffering from Japanese Encephalitis and he is under treatment. The All Assam Minority Students’ Union (AAMSU) Golaghat district committee expressed their resentment over the measures being taken by the administration. They alleged that the department concerned and district administration had not taken any precautionary measures in the district. They demanded prevention measures to be taken in the district to prevent spread of these diseases.
