A quirk of the camel immune system may help to create new drugs in record time. Unlike other animals, the camel produces proteins that can not only bind to foreign enzymes but stop them working, according to researchers in Belgium. Marc Lauwereys, an immunologist at the Free University of Brussels, has found a way to tap the camel immune system for potential drugs.
