Bangladesh prime Minister Sheikh Hasina reportedly gave a green signal to the three oil companies' cooperation proposal for the development of gas pipeline system in the western region of the country. The Unocal, a US oil company, originally submitted proposal for development of the gas pipeline system under the Western Region Integrated Project (WRIP). The WRIP has been conceived on the basis of Shahbajpur gasfield.
