Dhemaji, Sept 26: The people of Dhemaji district are likely to launch stronger protest against mega dam construction at Lower Subansiri, Gerukamukh in the first week of October. Indicating agitation programme over the issue, some prominent people of the district, including those belonging to several organizations, have sharply reacted to National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) chief SK Garg that the lower Subansiri project would be commissioned by 2012. A section of the people are determined to stop the NHPC project.
