Diabetic patients may no longer have to depend on insulin injections, say two scientists at the Allahabad University biochemistry department. They claim to have discovered a chemical which acts like insulin in its functions inside the human body but has the advantage that it can be taken orally. These findings have been reported in a research paper by Dr S I Rizvi, a lecturer in the biochemistry department of the University, and Mr. M Abu Zaid, a research scholar in the same department.
