Madhya Pradesh chief minister Digvijay Singh seems to be deeply disturbed by a CII report which relegates MP close to the bottom in the socio-economic development index. The fact that it was prepared at the behest of the Rajiv Gandhi Institute for Contemporary Studies, a subsidiary of the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, however, restrained him from finding too many faults with its contents. His limited response was that the findings were "wrong," and that the report should ideally have been released by the Central government instead of the BJP at a press conference in the state capital.
