About 100 diseased cows were dumped into the sea off the United Arab Emirates (UAE) coast late last month by the crew of an Indian ship, local newspapers said yesterday. The UAE auhtorities have sounded a public health alert and are taking steps to ensure that the dead cattle do not pose a threat to the country's water desalination plants.
