The Delhi Jal Board is planning to enhance the capacity of the sewage treatment plants (STPs) in the areas to be benefited by Sonia Vihar Water Treatment Plant to ensure that it does not add to the pollution level in Yamuna. The identified STPs, where capacity would increase, are situated in Yamuna Vihar, Kundli and Okhla in East and South Delhi areas which will be benefited by the 140 MGD water plant once it is fully operational.
