With the discovery of a gene implicated in prostate cancer, French biotech firm Genset SA has closed the gap with U.S. rivals in a high stakes genetic research race. Genset scientists have found a mutant gene that raises the risk of developing prostate cancer earlier than the normal onset age of 55.
