The U.S. Department of Energy(DOE) has announced an agreement with lamp ballast manufacturers and energy activists that will lead to a reduction in electrical consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. In a press release issued October 15, DOE details the change in commercial and industrial lighting applications intended to save enough energy over 30 years to power between 12 and 26 million U.S. homes for one year.
