Dream come true: WB sets up SEZ

The ceremonial sign-up for the first Special Economic Zone and a minor port at Kulpi, a little known location in the Sunderbans, between British multinational P&O, two Indian companies and the Communist Party of India (Marxist)-led Left Front Government in West Bengal is not just one more indicator that the state is a desirable investment destination. The $400-million agreement inked on August 11 is the last block in the grand design that former Chief Minister Jyoti Basu had laid out for West Bengal's "industrial revival".
