Women may soon have one less thing to worry about in pregnancy. A salive test that reveals the risk of premature labour was approved by America's Food and Drug Administration recently. It tests for the presence of a hormone called oestriol, which often increases in the weeks before premature labour occurs. Research showed that most women who tested negative for oestriol did not give birth early.
