East Asia emerges as powerhouse of nuclear energy

East Asia has become the global industry's most important area of growth in nuclear energy. The source of this enthusiasm for nuclear energy is easy to find. Resource poor but power hungry Japan, South Korea and Taiwan all rely on imported fossil fuels for most energy needs. All are also keen to reduce emissions of the greenhouse gases created by the burning of fossil fuels and blamed for global warming.
