The Delhi Vidyut Board on Tuesday took the first step towards handling over part of its operations to a private company. Through an advertisement published on Tuesday, DVB has invited companies to bid for maintenance of streetlights in East Delhi on turnkey basis. when contacted, DVB chairman Navin Chawla attributes the delay to the "complexities involved". ON the other hand maintenance of streetlight is said to be a simpler task, Mr Chawla expects it to start rolling by the end of April. The last date for making a proposal is April 8.
