Eight new industrial growth centres proposed in MP

Keeping in view the possible capital investment on a massive scale in industrial sector in the next few years, the State Government have launched the work of infrastructure development of international level in Madhya Pradesh. For this, new industrial growth centres are proposed to be set up in eight districts of the state. These districts include Indore, Badwani, Burhanpur, Raisen, Morena, Shivpuri, Seoni and Chhindwara. At present, there are only 18 growth centres in the state. Further, keeping in view the area-wise development, industrial clusters have been formed in accordance with the special features of different areas. The land has been earmarked for setting up of new industrial growth centres near the growth centres located in these areas. Essentially, there would be a minimum of one thousand hectares of land in a growth centre. It may be mentioned that a study has already been completed in the context of survey and possible industrial projects for infrastructure development in the proposed growth centres. Now, the process of allotment of earmarked land to the Industries Department is underway. The details of the proposed growth centres are as follows : Phase-III would be developed near Phase-I and Phase-II in Mandideep and Satlapur (Raisen district). One thousand hectare land is being acquired at Betma (Depalpur) in Indore district. Non-agricultural land has been visited for growth centre at Banmore (Morena) and Bhurkal Thapa (Seoni). Similarly, land has been earmarked for powerloom sector in Burhanpur. A proposal for scheme involving investment of Rs. ten crore for development of powerloom sector has been sent to the Central Government. Moreover, a growth centre for stone cluster is proposed to be set up in Badodi in Shivpuri district. In Chhindwara district, a textile cluster in private sector has already been sanctioned at Pandurna under a scheme of the Government of India. A growth centre for cotton ginning cluster has been proposed at Sendhwa (Badwani). Apart from this, 10 new small growth centres are proposed to be established in the state. All the six AKVNs (Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigams) are preparing the proposals for setting up of these centres in their respective areas. At present there are only seven small growth centres in the state.
