Following the footsteps of other Central America coffee producers, El Salvador plans to test the viability of low-quality coffee as an alternative fuel. Salvador also plans to test the coffee-fuel at a sugar mill. Experiments show that coffee has a high calorific value when burned and could serve to power industry.
