Elephant corridor: public hearing on Feb. 8

Udhagamandalam: The Nilgiris Collector, Anandrao V. Patil, has in a press note issued here on Thursday stated that in compliance with Madras High Court order a public hearing with regard to the recent publication of a map of the Elephant Corridor in the Sigur Plateau by the District Forest Officer, the Nilgiris North, will be conducted by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden and himself on February 8 as follows: Forest anti-poaching camp near the Sigur bridge on Kallatty-Masinagudy road for Sholur village (9.30 a.m.); Log House, Masinagudi for Masinagudi village (11.30 a.m.) and Forest rest house, Anaikatti for Hullathi and Kadanadu villages (2.30 p.m.). The people can appear in person or through their lawyers to record objections, if any. No individual or association will be allowed to interfere with the proceedings.
