The US Food and Drug administration gave approval to Eli Lilly & Co.'s Gerzar anti-cancer compound for first-line therapy against non-small-cell lung cancer, a potentially significant development for an already moderately successful drug. The federal agency gave approval to the Lilly drug to be used as a treatment for the disease in combination with cisplatin, a commonly used cancer drug.
