The biomass assessment study made by the Salem-Dharmapuri Chamber of Commerce at the instance of the Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA) and submitted to the Ministry of Non-conventional Energy Sources, Government of India, says it is possible to put up a 25 MW power plant with the surplus biomass available in Rasipuram taluk. This can meet more than double the requirement of the entire taluk.
