The Maharashtra Government-appointed Re-negotiation Committee, headed by former senior IAS officer Madhav Godbole, did make some headway at its first meeting with the top functionaries of the Enron India Corp on Friday. The committee is trying to prepare the ground for initiating talks for bringing down the price of power supplied by the Esnron subsidiary, Dabhol Power Company (DPC), to the Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB).
