Heralding the success of the Communist Party of India(Marxist) in keeping the multinationals away from the power sector in Kerala, the US-based multinational, Enron Corporation has announced its decision to back out from the 513 MW Kannur power project.The decision came in the wake of refusal by the Communist-led government to grant clearance for participation of the multinational in the Rs 1,400 crore project in northern Kerala.The project promoted by the KPP Nambiar Associates now needs a fresh partner for execution.
