The European Commission on Wednesday was expected to back the lifting of a worldwide ban on British beef exports that was imposed more than two years ago at the height of Europe's mad cow scare. The 20-member European Union executive body was set to rule that all beef and beef products from cattle born after August 1, 1996, will be free for export. That would cover most potential beef exports.
