EU, US sign energy research cooperation pact

The European Union and the United States have signed an agreement to collaborate on research products into energy, the European Commission said yesterday. The agreement, signed by U.S. Secretary of State for Energy, Spencer Abraham and EU Research Commissioner Philippe Busquin aims to see the two blocs collaborate on nuclear fusion and non-nuclear energy projects including fossil fuels and climate change, renewables, energy efficiency and hydrogen power.
