European nuclear power could be phased out and emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) reduced significantly by 2020, a Swedish daily quoted a U.S. research group as saying, yesterday. Swedish daily Svenska Dagbladet said the International Project for Sustainable Energy Paths (IPSEP) reported more efficient and reduced energy use would speed a quicker phase out of nuclear power and fossil fuels.
