This spring, the USA is facing electrical blackouts and watching gasoline prices climb toward record highs. But there's no sympathy across the Atlantic. Western European consumers have been living with high energy costs for years. Nevertheless, they have managed to maintain a high standard of living, and they say Americans can do it, too. Some blame the USA for higher energy prices worldwide.
