Europe's beef farmers find turning organic a tough chew

Changing the way Europe produces beef is easier said than done. There is plenty of demand for safer food. In fact, the drumbeat of bad news down on European farms just keeps getting louder; the mad cow scare, reports of dioxin-laced livestock feed and, most recently, an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in Britain.
