When you switch on that fan to beat the heat or put on your TV to watch your favourite show, you're hardly likely to be thinking about issues like the 'environmental impact of electricity generation'. But did you know that every mega watt of electricity produced in steam based power plants is accompanied by two mega watts or more of heat which is released into the environment? This was stated at the three-day national symposium on the environmental implications of electric power generation.
