An experts committee to assess and evaluate awarding environmental clearance to certain categories of thermal projects has been constituted by the Tamil Nadu State Government. The committee has been formed on the lines stipulated by the Ministry of Environment and Forests(MoEF) in amendments made to the Environment Impact Assessment Notification of 1994.
