Faroes to bring in oil exploration rules

Regulations governing oil explorations in the Faroe Islands, an archipelago between Britain and Iceland, will be in place by next spring at the latest, the islands' fledgling ministry of petroleum said. But Faroese officials said four sets of executive notices covering health, safety and the environment, risk analysis and emergency preparedness, technological issues and the operation of offshore oil fields had already been drafted.
