The Asian Development Bank-funded $42 million Fata Rural Development project is in doldrums as the Fata Governor's Secretariat pleads for direct financing from the bank.
Informed sources told Business Recorder that the Fata Governor's Secretariat is eager to execute the project independently without involvement of Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas Ministry. The bank has demanded of the secretariat to make it clear that it is independent in terms of utilisation of aid given by the international financial institutions (IFIs) or donor agencies.
