Though the DPC has been denying it, there are clear indications that the financial closrue of the 1444 MW second phase of the Dabhol Power project in Maharashtra is in some trouble. The closure, which was slated to take place in December , 1998, has been given an extention till March 1999. The State Cabinet approved the extention in the last week of October.
