Fly-ash pollution from a thermal power plant near Calcutta is threatening lives of at least 2,00,000 people in the area, but the authorities have turned a blind eye to the problem. Hazardous pollution and flyash emnating from the Kolaghat Thermal Power Station have sparked fears of a tuberculosis epidemic breaking out in the adjoining areas if the authorities don't take quick steps to curb pollution.
