Flying squads to protect Aravalis

New Delhi: Haryana government has finally decided to constitute flying squads to check non-forest activities like construction of farmhouses and residential colonies on forest land in Aravalis. The decision comes in the wake of Gurgaon forest conservator RP Balwan reporting largescale violation of forest area. The teams to be headed by gazetted officers and including range officers besides block guards and kanungo were formed after an official communication from Balwan to chief conservator and forest secretary mentioned that largescale violation were reported from Gwal Pahari, Balola, Ghata, Wazirabad, Hyderour Viran, Sohna, Raisina, Sanpki, Nagli, Gairatpur Bas, Roj Ka Gujjar, Baharampur in Gurgaon. In Faridabad, similar violations have been reported from Anangpur, Lakarpur, Sarai Khwaja, Mewla Maharajpur, Ankhir, Badkhal, Pali, Gothra Mohtabad, Magar, Kot and other villages.
