Chief Secretary Avani Vaish has instructed at a meeting at Jabalpur to give special priority to the construction of rural roads and buildings of schools and Anganwadis in the districts covered by Integrated Action Plan (I.A.P). The Chief Secretary was reviewing development works of Balaghat, Mandla, Seoni, Dindori, Umaria, Anuppur, Sidhi, Shahdol and Singrauli districts. At the meeting, he also apprised himself of the law & order situation in these districts. The Chief Secretary expressed satisfaction over the development works undertaken so far under IAP. He also instructed to chalk out a detailed action plan for developing infrastructure and basic amenities in these districts. Shri Vaish said that IAP will be the major factor in this action plan for overall development, but all the government schemes should also be included in it so that the work, which cannot be undertaken through IAP can be done under other schemes. The Chief Secretary asked the commissioners of Jabalpur, Rewa and Shahdol divisions to maintain a vigil over the action plan to be chalked out for overall development of IAP districts. He stressed the need for employment-oriented training to the villagers in the districts covered by IAP. He also lauded the training being imparted to women of these districts in sewing, embroidery, knitting, handicraft manufacture and honey collection. The Chief Secretary underscored the need for better coordination among collectors, superintendents of police and forest officers of these districts for removing the difficulties being faced in road construction. The Chief Secretary also instructed to hand over responsibility of running fair price shops to Forest Committees in the forest villages for ensuring smooth supply of food grains.
