In a State like Karnataka a demand for over 8000 MW of power on a daily basis is not unusual. As of today only 4800 MW has been tapped by the power sector. This power sector has tapped as much as it is providing today. There is not much of this power that is going unused. Nevertheless these are sectors where this power has still to be tapped. Whichever way we look at there is still the gap of over 3000 MW that needs to be bridged.
