Union Minister T R Baalu, utilised the press briefing of the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Sethusamduram Ship Canal Project to extend an open invitation to AIADMK supremo and Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa to participate in the event slated to be held here on July 2.Irked by questions on whether the CM would be invited to attend the function in which Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, DMK chief M Karunanidhi and all 12 Union Ministers from TN are scheduled to participate, Baalu told reporters, "Through the fourth estate, I invite her to kindly participate in the ceremony.'
