Four leading chloro flouro chlorine (CFC) manufacturing Indian bigwigs have embarked on a $82 million project for switching over to the production of non-ozone depleting substances (ODS) in order to comply with the Montreal Protocol. The project would be funded multilaterally by UNDP, UNIDO, World Bank and UNEP in order to help the Indian companies comply with the phase out of ODS by the end of 2010 as required by the Montreal Protocol to which India is a signatory.
