NBA : The controversial Maheshwar hydro-electric project on the Narmada in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh has become embroiled in a fresh controversy. The Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) says the construction company is "fraudulently" purchasing land from the people. The NBA says the project agreement stipulates the State Government will buy the land and direct purchase by the project authorities is illegal.
