Samriddhi 2005, a first-of-its-kind summit aimed at creating a brand image for the North-Eastern states as investment destinations, is starting in Guwahati on Thursday. The three-day meet, being organised by the North-Eastern Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NECCI), is expected to give a boost to the slogan "From Insurgence to Resurgence". It will be attended by Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Meghalaya Chief Minister DD Lapang and Union Textile Minister Shankarsinh Vaghela," said NECCI Secretary-General DK Sarma. A host of senior ministers and bureaucrats from the North-East and some of the top corporates from the country's leading business houses have converged in Guwahati for the event.
