Complete E-governance will come into effect in Karnataka State beginning January 1, 2004 and a separate department of E-governance will be established for the same, Chief Secretary B S Patil has said. A review meeting on e-governance held has decided to bring in paperless administration in all departments at the Secretariat level from January onwards, states a press release. To enable the general public also to avail the benefit of the process, plans are on to put up touch screen kiosks at Vidhana Soudha and the Multi-storyed Building in Bangalore.
